As a testament and as our response to Cinefilipino’s members and to all those who continue to log in as a support to Filipino films, we have re-designed the site to be more user-friendly and collaborative.

What started out as an initiative to present the quality story-telling of Filipino films both classic and contemporary has also become a springboard and space for independently produced films, providing the venue for aspiring filmmakers, so they can continue to create and break new ground in filmmaking.

Brillante “Dante” Mendoza’s latest film “Serbis” is the first Filipino film in 24 years to compete in the Cannes International Film Festival. “Serbis” examines the realities of poverty and one family’s struggle to survive by running a prostitution business inside a run-down movie theater.
